Privacy Policy
How personal data is collected, used and protected on this website, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What data is collected
This website does not collect personal data. There is no contact form, no cookies are used, there is no visitor analytics system, and nothing is loaded from third-party websites. The fonts, images and code are all served from this site itself.
Server logs
The hosting provider (Netlify) automatically records, as any web server does, the IP address, the date and time of the visit and the browser type. This logging is technically necessary for the operation and security of the site. It is not used to identify visitors and is not combined with any other data.
If you contact me
If you send me an email or telephone me, the details you give me — your name, your contact details and whatever you choose to write — are processed solely in order to reply to you.
The content of such a message may reveal information about your health. The GDPR treats this as special category data and protects it more strictly. You do not need to describe your situation in a first message; asking for an appointment is enough.
Correspondence is kept only for as long as it takes to answer the enquiry and arrange the appointment, and is then deleted. It is not passed to third parties, not used for newsletters, and not entered into any marketing system.
The email account is operated by Google, which acts as a processor for the transmission and storage of messages.
Session notes
Clinical records are entirely separate from this website, are not accessible over the internet, and are governed by professional confidentiality and the relevant mental health legislation.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2016/679) you have the right to:
- access — to know what data I hold about you and to receive a copy
- rectification — to have inaccurate details corrected
- erasure — to ask for your data to be deleted
- restriction of processing
- portability — to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
- object to the processing
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal
To exercise any of these, send me an email. I reply within one month.
Complaints
If you believe the processing of your data breaches the Regulation, you may lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, 1-3 Kifisias Avenue, 115 23 Athens, www.dpa.gr.
Data controller
The controller for the data described above is Maria Souropani, psychologist and psychotherapist. Full contact details are on the Contact page and in the footer of every page.
Processors
- Netlify — website hosting and server logs
- Google — the email account through which messages are received
There are no other recipients. Data is not sold, rented or exchanged.
Changes to this policy
Any material change will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
Accessibility
This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1, level AA).
What that means in practice
- Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator on every element
- Works without JavaScript; no text is hidden waiting for a script to load
- Colour contrast is measured rather than assumed: text exceeds the 4.5:1 minimum on every combination
- Your device's settings for reduced motion and increased contrast are honoured automatically
- Alternative text on every image, in the language of the page
- A skip link to the main content, first in the focus order
- No advertising, no pop-ups, no autoplay
There is no "accessibility" button and there will not be one. Tools of that kind interfere with the assistive technology you already use. The settings you have made on your own device are respected here without you having to make them again.
Outstanding
A screen reader pass by a user of one has not yet been completed. Until it has, this site is described as built to level AA rather than as certified against it.
If you hit a barrier
If any part of this site is not accessible to you, send me an email describing what happened and how you browse. I will fix it.
