About
I am a psychologist (University of Athens) and a systemic psychotherapist, with an MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Psychiatry. Since 2016 I have worked in assisted reproduction units, alongside women and couples facing infertility.
My approach
I am a psychologist and systemic psychotherapist, with postgraduate studies in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Psychiatry at the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I have many years of clinical experience in mental health, and I have worked with the Society of Social Psychiatry and Mental Health, providing services in adult mental health facilities.
I specialise in systemic psychotherapy and couples therapy, and my work with assisted reproduction units has given me substantial clinical experience in the psychological support of women and couples facing fertility difficulties, and of the emotional and psychological challenges that come with the transition to parenthood.
In my psychotherapeutic practice I work with adolescents and adults, both individually and with couples. I focus on mental health difficulties, trauma, loss, crises and the major transitions of life. I have a particular interest in mental health during pregnancy and the postpartum period, and in supporting women, couples and families through the changes and new challenges that come with having a child.
My therapeutic approach rests on building a safe, stable and supportive therapeutic relationship, in which each person can explore and more deeply understand themselves, their relationships and the difficulties they face. My aim is to find new, more workable ways of coping, communicating and connecting, with respect for each person's individuality and needs.
Studies & training
I studied Psychology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and went on to complete postgraduate studies in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Psychiatry at the NKUA School of Medicine. My master's thesis was titled "Externalising and Internalising Problems in Children Conceived through IVF: A Cross-sectional Study in a Clinical Population".
My core psychotherapeutic training is in systemic psychotherapy. I completed the four-year Clinical Specialisation Programme at the Institute for Training and Research in Systemic Psychotherapy "Logo Psychis", with parallel training in couples therapy.
Mental health in the perinatal and infant period is a particular focus of my professional training. In this area I completed the Postgraduate Programme for Perinatal and Infant Health Professionals at the "Koitida" Institute.
I have also trained in the use of psychometric tools, including the MMPI-2, and in clinical assessment and psychopathology. Specifically, I completed the postgraduate programme "Clinical Skills in Psychopathology", run by the First Department of Psychiatry of the University of Athens in collaboration with the Hellenic Psychiatric Association.
I continue to take part in supervision groups, for ongoing professional development and reflective work on my clinical practice.
